Annual Financial Commitment
Hillcrest is a privately funded non-profit organization and thus depends significantly on the support of local churches. Hillcrest asks churches to prayerfully consider providing financial support for the program.
Apartment sponsor
Each Hillcrest apartment is adopted by a church.
The sponsoring church remodels and furnishes the apartment to make it suitable for a family, and stocks the apartment with one week's worth of food items. The church also assists with ongoing maintenance and provides financial support: $5000 during the first year, with continued financial support in subsequent years.
Food Pantry Sponsor
Hillcrest seeks to provide over 90 percent of the families' food needs during their stay in the program. Pantry sponsors pledge to hold an annual food drive or to support the Hillcrest Need's List on either a monthly or quarterly basis.
Workday Sponsor
Workday sponsors schedule a project at Hillcrest's facility and work side-by-side with Hillcrest staff and families. These projects enable Hillcrest to maintain a clean and functional facility at a low cost.
Budget Counselor
Budget counselors meet with a family for one hour each week. Budget counselors help a family learn to set and prioritize financial goals and to distinguish needs from wants.
Life Skills Instructor
Life skills instructors teach 2-3 sessions as often as every 3 months or as infrequently as once a year. These classes focus on issues such as nutrition, parenting, home health care, stress management, employment skills, and auto care.
Participate in the Walk for the Homeless
Each Spring Hillcrest hosts the Walk for the Homeless. Participants can participate individually or in teams of 2-5 walkers. All walkers raise pledges.
Basket Sponsor for Annual Gala & Auction
Each Fall Hillcrest hosts a Gala & Auction. Sunday School classes are invited to put together themed "baskets" to be auctioned. Examples of themes include barbecue, chocolate, coffee and tea, candles, inspirational items, etc.

Individuals, families and groups can create a memorable Christmas experience for a Hillcrest family by adopting a family for Christmas.
